[Japan] Round the Mt. Fuji - A Japan summer trip |
Our plan to visit Japan started with a conversation between two close friends, which led to a journey filled with memories and experiences that we will never forget. As we were planning our trip, we knew that we wanted to visit Mt. Fuji and experience the beauty of this iconic mountain.
The route plan of this summer trip around Mt. Fuji. |
After a few months of planning and preparation, we finally arrived in Japan and started our journey to Mt. Fuji. We were in awe of the beautiful scenery and the peaceful surroundings. As we got closer to the mountain, we could feel the excitement building up inside of us.
Brief introduction of the plan:
- First day, arrive at Tokyo Haneda Airport and take a short trip to Yokohama in the evening.
- Second day, visit Kamakura and see the hydrangeas in bloom at the gardens.
- Third day, take the mountain railway to Hakone and visit the Hakone Shrine.
- Fourth day, travel through Gotemba to Lake Kawaguchi end explore.
- Fifth day, explore the area around Lake Kawaguchi and visit Oishi Park.
- On the sixth and seventh day, climb Mount Fuji.
- Last day, the eighth day, return to Tokyo for shopping.

Our journey to the summit of Mt. Fuji was challenging, but it was also one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives. We were able to witness the breathtaking views from the top of the mountain and take in the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Throughout our trip, we also had the opportunity to explore other parts of Japan, including Tokyo and Kyoto. We were fascinated by the unique culture and traditions of Japan and enjoyed every moment of our journey.
Our trip to Japan was truly a life-changing experience, and we hope to return one day to explore more of this beautiful country.
On the way to the summit of Mt. Fuji |
Before embarking on the journey, I didn't have any particular feeling about the vastness of the coverage of Mt. Fuji, as it's hard to imagine and comprehend while living in a small and narrow place like Hong Kong. Here are some information about Mt. Fuji:
- Mt. Fuji's summit is at an altitude of 3,776 meters.
- The circumference of Mt. Fuji's base is 125 kilometers.
- Mt. Fuji's diameter at the base is 50 kilometers.
- The diameter of Mt. Fuji's crater is 500 meters, with a depth of 250 meters.
- Mt. Fuji spans Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures.
After seeing these cold numbers, do you have a basic understanding of the extent of Mt. Fuji? In reality, it's probably similar to how I felt before embarking on the journey: unfamiliar and puzzled.
